Ginkgo and the Republic of Madagascar Announce Biosecurity Partnership
September 26 2023
We are thrilled to announce a new partnership with the Republic of Madagascar, and our intent to develop and implement new biosecurity capabilities together.
The partners aim to detect pathogens at key ports of entry, including at Ivato International Airport.
Dr. Valéry M. Fitzgerald Ramonjavelo, Minister of Transport and Meteorology of the Republic of Madagascar, also emphasized the partnership’s impact on the global community: “We look forward to collaborating with Ginkgo and leveraging the team’s expertise to further build our biosecurity capabilities and better protect our country—and the world—from biothreats.”
The partners plan to bolster biomonitoring capabilities across the African continent, to detect and respond to biological threats, following Ginkgo’s announced partnerships with Botswana, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Rwanda.
